About Us SAWA Counseling Unit

S.A.W.A. is the acronym of the 4 main goals of the unit.

SUPPORT: Fostering social and emotional support by offering students the tools needed to reach optimal potentials.
AWARENESS: Sharing knowledge and experiences as well as helping students make their own decisions by being aware of their own and others needs.
WELL-BEING: Providing a secure and stimulating environment that promotes independence, self-awareness, and wellbeing.
ADVOCACY: Encouraging a supportive, safe, and caring school environment to empower students to reach success today and in the future

Objectives

As we are facing a wide range of challenges impacting our children’s wellbeing and mental health, SAWA counseling unit, focuses on supporting students and enhancing their wellbeing to ensure that students at AlMakassed realize their potential now and in the future, and are able to deal with the challenges they face in life.

Roles and Responsibilities

The mission of SAWA Unit is a prolongation of Al Makassed mission which aims to reach students’ optimal capabilities.

The main core of SAWA is to promote social and emotional wellbeing, mental health, resilience, career guidance and wellness for AlMakassed community. We aim to provide a secure, safe, healthy, supportive, stimulating, and caring school environments to help children achieve their potential and become independent life-long learners.

SAWA Counseling unit consists of a group of counselors who work together at all Makassed schools systematically and in coordination with Makassed Educational Directorate, uplifting the wellbeing of the Makassed community to reach its ultimate potential.
