Ahead of the new academic year, Makassed Philanthropic Islamic Association of Beirut completed the renovation of its schools in Beirut.
“This project is in line with the will of the Association to provide [its community] with the best services, particularly in the education sector”, announced Makassed in a statement.
The rehabilitation and development works include the colleges of Khadija El Kobra, Omar Bin Al Khattab, Ali Bin Abi Taleb, Khaled Bin Al Walid and Abi Bakr Al Sideeq School.
Repair and refurbishment involved classrooms, playgrounds, restrooms, changing of windows and painting of walls.
“The Association believes there is a crucial need to exert efforts to provide students with a good learning environment to move forward with [Makassed’s] educational mission.”
Makassed President Dr. Faisal Sinno highlighted the importance of this step, aimed at creating “a supportive and inclusive environment that helps students demonstrate their real potential”.
“The renovation doesn’t only include refurbishing schools, we also believe in the need to constantly develop our academic quality and motivate our students by paving a way for them to express their capacities and improve their skills in order to become effective members of the society’, he added. Former PM Fouad Siniora, accompanied by Dr. Sinno and Board of Trustees members, conducted a tour to inspect the refurbished schools.
